Homemade Pizza- Cheap & Easy

This is one of our favorite quick & inexpensive meals.

Homemade Pizza

Dough
1c. milk
1 Tablespoon yeast
1 Tablespoon sugar
2 Tablespoons butter (or margerine)
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Warm up milk in the microwave to luke warm (30 sec.). Add yeast and sugar and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
After the yeast has turned foamy, add butter and flour mixture. Mix until the dough forms a ball. (I usually add about 1c more flour so that it is not so sticky) Let the dough rise for about 10 min.

Roll out, poke with a fork (to avoid bubbling) then bake at 425 for 6 min. or until slightly golden brown (remember you will be putting it back in for a few min. to melt the cheese)

Take crust from the oven and add tomato sauce, cheese, and peperoni ( or whatever toppings you want). Place bake in the oven until cheese is melted- then remove, cut, and enjoy!

This makes a great double date dinner. You can divide the dough in half or fourths so that each couple or person has their own pizza. Then everyone can have the toppings they want.

Money Saving Mom, along with a lot of other bloggers, had a freezer cooking day yesterday. Once a month she spends the whole day cooking meals that they freeze and eat the rest of the month. She has some good recipes posted on her blog here. There are also a lot of other blogs linked to her post with oodles of recipe ideas.
Saving a Bundle also posted a delicious Chicken Salad Recipe here.
