Earn Swabucks for Printing & Using Coupons!

You can now earn Swag Bucks for printing and redeeming coupons. For each coupon you use that you printed through the link on Swagbucks.com, you will earn 10 Swag Bucks!

You can find the coupons under the earn drop down menu on the Swag Bucks Website.  They are the same coupons you would find on Coupons.com.  Simply print coupons from that page, use them, and earn 10 Swag Bucks per coupon.

Don't forget, Today is Mega Swagbucks Day!  Fridays you have a better chance of earning $30, $50, $300, $1000 or more Swagbucks at a time while searching the Internet!

New to Swagbucks? Read my Swagbucks post to learn more about why I love Swagbucks.  See my post here to see how Swagbucks will be paying for Daniel's school books. We will also be using Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks to pay for a few Christmas and baby items.

The $10 Competition

A few weeks ago Money Saving Mom had a guest post labeled the $20 Bill Challenge from Life as I See It. The purpose of the challenge was to earn a little extra money this year.  Daniel and I decided that it would be fun to try, but we have modified the rules a bit.

Our $10 Challenge

A few Reality Checks
During our move, we realized that we have a lot of stuff that we need to get rid of.  We are both sort of pack rats- we never get rid of things because we know that we will need them again one day (but who knows when)- so we have a lot of stuff.  This is not junk, we just don't need it all right now.  So we decided to try and sell some of this stuff.

During our vacation to San Francisco we realized that there are some things that are worth a few dollars.  We had a goal of spending very little on the trip, which is a good thing.  We found, however; that it is worth a few dollars to make a memory.  Our dilemma was that we wanted to save as much as we can towards vet school while we are both able to work.  How can we justify splurging on fun stuff?

Our Plan
Daniel & I have created our own challenge- a $10 challenge.  We each have $10 of capital to start with.   At the end of the year whoever has generated the most income from that $10 wins the competition.  We have not decided what they will win yet, but for now the spirit of the competition is enough drive.  :D

The proceeds from the challenge will be put towards our summer activities and vacations.  This will maximize both the amount of fun we will be able to have and the amount of money we will be able to put into savings.

Rules
1.  We must ask permission before selling anything.
2.  We cannot use more than the $10 capital + any revenue we generate from our ideas.
3.  We are not allowed to steel eachothers ideas. Once one person has stated a plan it is theirs.
4.  We are allowed to ask for help.  The money earned from joint ventures can be split if necessary.
That is it for now.  More rules will be generated as needed.

I am very excited to have a little motivation in getting rid of some of our stuff.  We both have come up with some good ideas- I am excited to see if they work!  Once we have a little success, I will update you on our challenge.

My first Idea/Goal

I enjoy creating things.  If I had a lot of time & space, I would spend it scrapbooking & creating decorations for our appartment.  Last fall I participated in a craft show with my mom & sisters.  I still have left over inventory that is just sitting in a box.  My first goal is to sell some of those items.  Wish me luck!

Life as I See It recently posted 10 ideas to make more money to go along with their $20 challenge.

More Bang for Your Buck

Online Cash Back Programs
I am a money saving addict.  I admit it.  I get a 'high' from saving money.  Whew- glad to get that out.

I have mentioned several ways that I have earned a little extra doing ordinary tasks- searching the internet &  printing coupons.  Another source is online cash back programs.  Here is how they work.

You sign up & open an acount online.  When you shop online, go through one of your cash back programs to get a % of cash back on your order.  You can also search these websites for online coupon codes to use while shopping.  Each program has a payout threshold you have to reach before you get paid.  Here are a few of my favorite programs & a few details about them.

$5 sign up bonus
$20 Payout Threshold
$5 Sign up bonus
$10 Payment Threshold*
*Paid on the 20th of each month

$5 Sign Up Bonus
$5 Payout Threshold*
*This does not include the $5 sign up bonus

If you shop online, be sure to go through one of these companies to get the most bang for your buck!

I have an account with each of these companies.  When I purchase items online, I go through the website that is giving the greatest % cash back at that store.

Review- My Points

MyPoints
One thing I have learned since I began using coupons, is that there are often hidden opportunities to earn money doing everyday things.  I already introduced you to Swagbucks, where you can earn prizes searching the internet.  Shot at Home, Cashbaq, and Ebates give you cash back when you shop online.  Another one of my favorites is My Points.

My points gives you a number of ways to earn points, but my favorite is that they give you points for redeaming coupons!  If you print coupons through the My Points website (which is linked to coupons.com & smartsource.com), you can earn 10 points per coupon redeemed or 25 bonus points for every 10 coupons you redeem.  These points can then be traded for gift cards!

With My Points you can also have the option of getting points to read emails.  They will send you emails with different advertisements and offers.  If you look through the email and visit the advertised website you earn x number of points.  If you actually go through with the offer you earn more points.  I usually just click through the emails and get 5 points for looking at the advertisement.  They will not trick you into signing up or give out your email, but be careful not to sign up for something you don't really want just to get points!

If you are interested, go to My Points to sign up and print and redeam coupons!

Search and Win with Swagbucks!

Do you use Internet search engines like Google and Yahoo on a regular basis? If you do, I recommend that you try Swagbucks. Swagbucks is an internet search engine that rewards you with "swagbucks" for searching the internet. You can then use these "bucks" to buy prizes and gift cards!

Each month since I started using Swagbucks, I have earned enough to buy a $5 gift card on Amazon. That might not sound like much, but I have not done anything different- except use the Swagbucks toolbar. The more you search, the more you earn.
