I had a reader leave a comment on my Best of Broulims post asking, "Will you note under each item if you think it is a good deal or not?"
I decided to address this question in a post because my answer became too long for a comment. :D
To answer simply. yes. I will try to be better at letting you all know when I think something is a good deal. The problem I face is that each person's definition of a 'good' deal varies depending on their situation. If you have questions about building a stockpile read my post here. If you would like to see one persons list of stock-up prices, see this post.
What I am doing Now:
Currently I write deal posts for Albertsons, Walgreens, and Broulims. I also highlight exceptional deals at a few other stores. In these posts I try to highlight what I believe are the best deals at that store each week. This does not mean it is the lowest price you will ever find for the item, but it does mean that I think it is a good deal. Of course, I always recommend that you keep a budget & don't buy so many 'good' deals that you spend more than you can afford.
Some of the deals I post, particularly coupon match ups, aren't necessarily the best price. Many of you are probably wondering- 'if you don't think it is a good deal, why are you posting about it?' The reason I show all the deals & coupon match ups is to try to help everyone find the best deals on the things they need to buy. It would be great if everyone was able to live the stockpile theory & only bought things at their rock bottom price. Unfortunately, we often need to buy things whether they are on sale or not. With that said, some of the coupon match ups are there to show my readers what coupons they could use that week, even though it may not be the best deal.
This is what I will try to do:
1. I will include a section labled "My Favorite Deals" where I will only post deals that I believe are good prices for the items.
2. If there is a sale or item that is an unbeatable price, I will be sure to highlight that Item. This is mostly reserved for freebies & moneymakers.
3. I will continue to respond to comments & emails. If you would like to know my opinion on an item, please leave a comment or send me an email, and I will try to respond promptly.
4. I am working on compling a list of my stock up prices. This can be a reference for you as you decide on your own stock up prices.
I hope this helps! I am always excited to hear from my readers.
